Peace and quiet draw me to the roar of the waves. The quiet steady breezes draw me to the nature of the ocean. The sandy walks draw me to the ocean. The tactile moments seduce me. I can embrace my solitude at the beach. I am in touch with nature and the rhythms within and without.
Camping is getting away from tired routines. I take the simple pleasures of riding my bike around the neighborhood like a child. I don't have to play roles at the beach. I am away from my mind.
On the way to Assateague we were stopped by traffic that was waiting for an airplane crash to be cleared. We were held up for about 20 minutes. We missed the plane crossing the road by 10 cars in front of us.
