Festival

The first image shows this pole I've been trying to portray. The air is heavy with incense smoke. The pole is like a cross - one upright post and one crossmember - hence the comparison to the cross! The height is 40 or 50 feet. It's behind the temple from the street. The second image is looking toward the street away from the buddhist cross. The third is kids playing. The fourth is the delicious vegetarian food. I can't begin to tell you what it was or what it consists of. There was some strong flavored green vegetable that may have been seaweed. There were several pickled things that helped reduce the heat of the spices. All good, all filling. Eating is always an adventure. Saw a couple of my students
