Flowers in DC parks

Photos of flowers bring out poetry in me. I see the light shining through the petals and realize the power of nature is not the same as the power of humans. These flowers are in the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens on the east side of DC. I had never got over there except once until recently. Now it's somewhat of a favorite. From the photos I can enjoy and appreciate the images I couldn't see while I was there. I can hold the camera up to a point I wouldn't see otherwise.

These flowers in DC are a bit of history. The Japanese government gave a gift to the American people of these trees. They were planted along the tidal basin of the Potomac river which runs to the south DC. The joy of walking among the trees surrounded by beautiful pale blossoms with a carpet of blossoms at your feet is wonderful.

Flowers in Thailand

From the muted colors and daisy simplicity to the rich bold meaty colors and extraordinary design of the Asian tropics we go to the Cannonball tree flowers. This tree was in one of our favorite restaurants in Phuket. There are stories from Buddhism that entwine with the Cannonball tree.

Finally we have the classic lotus flower. We had this spectacular pond right down the street from our last beautiful house in Kathu, Phuket, Thailand. It's a private area but you can view the flowers from the road. We were there for the best of it and then the drought came and the pond diminished significantly which dried out the plants a lot.

DC area park in Silver Spring, MD

This is one of our favorite parks. They have a beautiful Asian style garden with a beautiful rose section. There are always photographers taking wedding pics or other portraiture. Also there are lots of nature photography. The one dancer had some of the longest braids I've ever seen. Kazakhstan is in Asia. Of the two dancers one definitely looked more Chinese Asian and one was more Indian Asian.
